Maria & George

Maria and George. Painted outside Athens, where vivid mountains lean toward the water. The colours were bright and open by the pool, the air still. George and Maria, just before their wedding, standing side by side and looking far ahead, observing what is coming. There is love here, quiet and committed. I gave them this painting during their wedding and cried like a baby as I watched them receive it. I find it beautiful how two young people choose each other without knowing much about the lives ahead of them. They are trusting love, stepping forward together. Quite and beautiful. The weather was hot and silent.
